Today is a special occasion! Your wife is turning 27. Knowing how depressed she gets as she edges closer to the dreaded 30, you decide to plan something personal & special for her. Being a massive cheese fan, you decide to do a romantic cheese and wine evening. So you went out and bought her favourite bottle (or rather bottles (!) of wine; namely B Side Napa Valley Red Wine) & of course a wide selection of cheese.
As you get home you eye the big cube of cheese and come up with a genius idea. You will cut the cheese into 27 smaller little cubes. Instead of 27 candles on a birthday cake, you will present these on the table to your cheese loving wife instead. How many straight cuts of the knife do you need to divide the cheese?
